Welcome to this special episode of Facts & Figures, titled "Meri Awaaz." This is the first episode of our new series where we delve into viral incidents that people often scroll past, viewing them as just meme content or entertainment. But these stories hold a deeper significance, and through this episode, we aim to explore the hidden truths behind them. The first incident occurred on September 16, 2024, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. A police officer was seen attempting to end his life by stepping in front of a train. He was humiliated and accused of bringing in fake suspects, leading to his mental breakdown. This incident reveals the internal exploitation and mental stress faced by officers in the police department. Shocking reports indicate that from 2018 to 2022, 654 police officers ended their lives due to mental health issues. The second story takes us to a Dalit settlement in Nawada, Bihar, where, on September 18, the entire community’s homes were set on fire. The mainstream media and politicians made it a political agenda, but no one addressed the real pain and suffering of the Dalits. What burned were not houses but fragile lives and futures.
