आज भी दलित होना पाप है? जातिवाद के ख़ौफ़नाक सच! | F&F Episode 34
In this episode of Facts & Figures, we dive deep into the ongoing atrocities faced by Dalits in India. Despite over 77 years of independence and 74 years of the Indian Constitution, the caste system continues to haunt marginalized communities. While the Constitution promises equality, caste-based discrimination and violence persist, with Dalits facing brutal assaults simply for asserting basic human rights. In the past two months alone, several disturbing incidents have shaken the conscience of the nation. A 6-year-old Dalit boy in Uttar Pradesh was forced to clean the school toilet and later locked inside a classroom by his teachers. In Bihar, a Dalit girl was assaulted in her own home by upper-caste men, and when her family sought justice, they were threatened by the police. Similarly, in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district, a 16-year-old Dalit girl was kidnapped and assaulted, only to be met with indifference and intimidation by local authorities when she tried to report the crime. Dalits continue to face humiliation for trying to live dignified lives. In Gujarat, a young Dalit man, Ajay Parmar, was brutally beaten for simply wearing sunglasses and posting his photo on Instagram. His case exemplifies the deeply entrenched caste-based prejudice still rampant in India.
