UFBU calls for a 2-day nationwide bank strike over privatization, key services to be affected
During the budget announcement, Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman declared the privatization of two public sector banks to generate ₹ 1.75 lakh crore.
The United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU), an umbrella body of nine bank unions, has called for a two-day nationwide strike on March 15 and 16.
According to the sources, over 10 lakh bank employees and officers will be a part of the strike.
The 9 bank unions that will take part in the strike called by UFBU are AIBOC, NCBE, AIBEA, AIBOC, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBO, NOBW.
Due to the strike, services like deposits and withdrawal at branches, cheque clearance, and loan approvals will be affected. But, ATMs will remain functional.
