Rapes in Uttar Pradesh have shown an alarming increment in past few days. Data Shows that rapes against women have increased since Nirbhaya Gangrape in 2012. Doctors after performing the postmortem of Barabanki Rape victim said that they have not seen such case in their lifetime. NCRB data suggests that 91 rapes were committed daily in 2018. After Hathras gangrape, news of crime against women came from Barabanki, Pratapgarh, Bairiya etc. BJP leaders are continuously giving statements which in a way supports the rape culture or crime against women.
