Rajasthan HC Orders Single-Judge Bench to Decide on Merger of 6 BSP MLAs

  • On Thursday, Rajasthan HC disposed of a plea against the merger of 6 BSP MLAs in Rajasthan with the Congress party.
  • Prateek Kalsiwal representing Assembly Speaker CP Joshi said, "The HC has directed a single-judge bench hearing the stay application in the matter to decide on it on the next date of hearing- August 11." 
  • "Directions have also been issued to Jaisalmer DJ to effectuate service of the notice to the 6 BSP MLAs and take the help of the Superintendent of Police for the same if needed," he added. 
  • The HC was hearing two pleas filed by the BSP and BJP leader Madan Dilawar against the merger.
  • On Thursday, the court issued a notice to Joshi and ordered him to file a response in the matter by tomorrow.
