Pilot vs Gehlot: PIL filed to seek salary withdrawal, benefits to MLAs staying in hotels
A petition has been filed in the HC to stop the salary and allowances of the MLAs staying in the hotel.
The petitioner Vivek Singh Jadaun has demanded that the salaries of those staying in a five-star hotel for 3 weeks should be withheld.
According to the petition, an MLA gets around 2.5 lakh rupees per month including salary and allowance, if he gets some expenses then he gets 3 lakh.
Jadaun said, "MLAs are staying in the hotels having no connection with the public in their constituencies & are not discharging their duty as per their oath to discharge duty MLAs."
"Further, no other responsible person is there to discharge duty in the absence of them, therefore, they should not be given any salary, allowance & other benefit or any kind of allowances," he added.
