Kerala extends Covid regulations till July 2021

  • Witnessing the continuous growth in cases Kerala on Sunday amended the state Epidemic Disease Ordinance, putting the Covid-control regulations in the state in place for the next one year.
  • With coronavirus cases gradually increasing in Kerala, the state government has issued new guidelines to act as preventive measures against the pandemic. 
  • The new regulations known as ‘Kerala Epidemic Disease Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) Additional Regulations, 2020’, will be in force for a year i.e till July 2021, or till further government direction.
  • Till then,people will have to wear masks, maintain social distancing and avoid large gatherings till July 2021.
  • The state government has said that violators shall be punishable under the provisions of the Kerala Epidemic Diseases Ordinance, 2020.
