To strengthen Indian Armed Forces, MoD to Procure 21 MiG-29s, 12 Su-30 MKI Aircraft
The Ministry of Defense approved the proposal for the acquisition of 21 MiG-29s along with the up-gradation of IAF’s existing MiG-29 aircraft.
The defense ministry also approved the procurement of 12 Su-30 MKI aircraft.
Acquisition of MiG-29 & its up-gradation from Russia will cost Rs 7418 Crores, while Su-30 MKI will cost Rs 10,730 and will be procured from HAL.
MoD in an official statement said that to strengthen the Armed Forces, the Defence Acquisition Council approved for acquisitions of the various equipment required by the Indian Forces.
Defense minister Rajnath Singh chaired the meeting.
