Centre again cancels Shramik train to Bihar from Kerala at last minute

  • The Centre disappointed migrant workers again by cancelling a Shramik special train from Kerala to Bihar at the last moment.
  • The Pathanamthitta district administration had arranged food for 1,500 migrant workers who were to take the train from Thiruvalla railway station to Bihar, sources said.
  • The authorities also arranged vehicles to transport the workers from different parts of the district to Thiruvalla.
  • Meanwhile, the frustrated migrant workers took to the streets at various places in the district to protest the cancellation of the train.
  • Early this week chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had argument with union railways minister Piyush Goyal for operating trains to Kerala without informing the state in advance about the passenger name record and booking records.
