CT Ravi, Karnataka Tourism Minister, said COVID-19 lockdown has severely damaged the tourism industry in the state and the govt will revive it in a phased manner.
Ravi said, "It would be beneficial if hotels are opened keeping in mind few restrictions."
"At present, the tourism industry has fallen flat making it very difficult to promote tourism in the state," he said.
Ravi said that the dept has plans to focus on native tourism and promote inter-district travel.
He added, "We will put weight behind inter-state tourism & in the fourth phase, we would be promoting international travel and tourism.
