Coronavirus: Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Directs Officials to Collect Data on Van Gujjars

Uttarakhand’s chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh has discussed the issue of Van Gujjars with the forest department and animal husbandry department.
He has directed his officials to collect data of the number of Van Gujjar families living in different places.
The chief secretary has directed the officials of the animal husbandry department to ensure the arrangement of fodder for the livestock.
He further mentioned that the summer migration of forest Gujjars should be completely banned due to the threat of Covid-19.
He also gave instructions for proper arrangement of ration and animal fodder in the sealed forest Gujjar areas.
