WB Police Books BJP MP Under Disaster Management Act

West police have booked BJP MP Subhas Sarkar under different sections of the IPC & Disaster Management Act.
The MP has been booked for spreading false alarms.
Another MP, Alipurduars’ John Barla, has complained to Union Home Minister Amit Shah that district administration has put hi, under ‘house arrest’.
The administration kept this issue secret and did not let anyone know about it.
Police took action against Sarkar after CM Mamata Banerjee’s warning on April 15 that people spreading misinformation about COVID-19 will face legal action.
