Coronavirus: Health Ministry Orders State and UTs to Take Steps to Stop Fake News

Union Health Ministry has ordered all states and UTs to take effective measures against fake news during coronavirus and nationwide lockdown.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla informed Chief Secretaries of all states that Centre will soon create a web-portal for people to verify facts and unverified news promptly.
He also asked the states to submit their Action Taken Report to the ministry to enable it to apprise the SC.
SC earlier asked the center to submit a status report on the steps taken by the for preventing the spread of coronavirus in India.
The report was submitted on March 31 and the next date of hearing is on April 7.
