COVID-19: 31,000 people in home isolation, 24,000 in capital city alone

  • Health and Family Welfare Department reveals that 31,000 people are in home isolation in Karnataka, of which 24,000 are in Bengaluru.
  • On Monday night, thousands of people including several home- quarantined persons rushed to leave Bengaluru for their hometowns. 
  • "Teams are currently working on tracing people to ensure they are strictly in home isolation,” stated Pankaj Kumar Pandey, health commissioner.
  • Allaying concerns raised by public health experts over the state’s preparedness, the government claimed that the Covid-19 situation in the state is under control.
  • According to health commissioner so far only single-digit positive cases have been reported every day so there is no community spread.
