Coronavirus: Center Stop Domestic Flights from 25th March

  • Union Civil Aviation Ministry in an official statement said that no domestic commercial passenger flight would be allowed to operate in the country from March 25 onward.
  • This step was taken to contain the spread of the coronavirus in India.
  • On Sunday, India has already banned international flights for a week.
  • Ministry spokesperson said, "The operations of domestic schedule commercial airlines shall cease with effect from the midnight that is 23.59 hours IST on March 24, 2020".
  • However, the spokesperson clarified that the restrictions would not apply to cargo flights.
