Amid Coronavirus Threat, Delhi Govt Bans IPL in Delhi
- Delhi government has banned IPL and all sporting activities until further notice for the purpose of prevention and control of the outbreak of the epidemic disease COVID-19.
- This ban comes after CM Arvind Kejriwal ordered the closure of all schools, colleges, and theatre in the city till March 31.
- There have been 75 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in India including 6 confirmed in Delhi.
- The COVID-19 outbreak originated in a food market in China's Wuhan district in December last year.
- The WHO has declared Coronavirus a pandemic which means it has spread worldwide and affected a huge number of people.
