Union minister Smriti Irani defended the CAA and said that she feels proud of it.
She said that CAA provides refuge to non-Muslims persecuted in a country such as Pakistan.
“There have been cases where girls have been raped and forced to marry her rapists. They are the kind of people who would want refuge in India", she said.
When asked about the Shaheen Bagh protest, she said that it was not possible to talk to them because of the toxic atmosphere.
“When children are taught to say ‘we will murder Modi’ then what do you say? What do you say when people say ‘bharat tere tukde honge’", she further added.
