22 People Lost Their Lives, While 322 People Still in Jail For Agitating Against CAA: UP Govt

The UP govt informed the Allahabad HC about the people who lost their lives and about people who were arrested for agitating against CAA.
It was told that 22 people lost their lives during protests, 83 were injured, 883 people were arrested on charges of spreading violence.
Govt advocate general Manish Goyal said 561 people have got bail, 322 are still in jail and 45 policemen were injured.
The next hearing of the plea filed in the court in the case of police atrocities against the protesters will now be on 18 March.
At the same time, the hearing on the plea filed against the police action on the students of AMU has been postponed on Monday.
