SC Issues Notice to J&K on Plea challenging Omar Abdullah's detention

The SC asked J&K administration and center to respond to the petition filed by Omar Abdullah's sister challenging the detention of her brother and former CM Omar Abdullah.
They have asked the administration to respond by March 2nd as that is the next date of hearing.
Earlier the SC turned down the plea of Abdullah's sister seeking early hearing of the case.
After the meeting, Sara Abdullah, Omar's sister said, "We were hopeful that, as this is a habeas corpus case, the relief would be sooner. But we have full faith in the justice system."
Let us tell you that Omar Abdullah was booked under PSA which allows authorities to detain a person without trial for a maximum period of two years.
