A Year After Pulwama Attack, Intensity of Convoy Movement Reduced

  • A year after the car bomb attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama the number of soldiers being moved in convoys along the J&K highway has reduced.
  • Officials said, "Material, rations, etc are moved through the same road and soldiers move with convoys to protect the material".
  • The official further said that a year ago convoys comprising 10-70 odd vehicles moved between daily but now only 7-8 convoys ferrying material and some soldiers are moved in a month now.
  • Another official said that though counter-insurgency operation after the Pulwama attack neutralized the terror network they still move the convoys with extra security.
  • "Before convoys move, the route is checked for IEDs continuously by special teams and convoys are not allowed to move if they cannot reach the destination before sundown," the official said.
