Tug of War Between MVA Govt for Rajya Sabha Seat

  • There might be a tug of war between the three allies of MVA govt in Maharashtra after 7 Rajya Sabha members retire in April.
  • The members retiring from Maharashtra on 2nd April are NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and his party colleague Majeed Menon. 
  • Other MPs are Congress’ Hussain Dalwai, the Shiv Sena’s Rajkumar Dhoot, Union minister Ramdas Athawale (RPIA), BJP’s Amar Sable and Independent MP Sanjay Kakde.
  • The MVA government is sure of winning four of these seven seats with the help of its 169 legislators.
