One Case of Coronavirus in India: Health Ministry Confirms

  • The union Home Health ministry confirmed the first case of Coronavirus infection in a student who came back to Kerala from China's Wuhan tested positive for the infection.
  • In an official statement, the ministry said, "One positive case of novel coronavirus patient, of a student studying in Wuhan University, has been reported in Kerala." 
  • "The patient has tested positive for novel coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital,” the health ministry further added.
  • Health officials said that the student is stable and is being closely monitored along with that isolation wards are ready in all hospitals and medical colleges in the state. 
  • The state is on high alert after the detection of the first case in the country and in all 806 people are under observation in Kerala.
