Coronavirus: Gehlot Govt Seeks Financial Assistance from Center After Losing Rs 18,000 Crores

  • Rajasthan govt has asked for immediate financial assistance from the central govt citing that a revenue loss of Rs 18,000 Crore due to lockdown.
  • CM Ashok Gehlot informed that Rs 3,500 crore of revenue was lost in the last week of March. 
  • He also said that the state govt was working on a strategy to ensure that Above Poverty Line (APL) families should not lose their status to BPL ones due to lockdown.
  • A statement issued by state govt said, "The advisor to the CM Arvind Mayaram is working on the economic models to reduce the impact of lockdown in the state." 
  • CM also said that the state govt has made all the preparations to ensure that social distancing is followed at all food grains mandis.
