After a woman goes missing, a case filed against a Karnataka man under UP's anti-conversion law
19-year-old woman went missing after which police lodged a case against a Karnataka man for allegedly kidnapping her after befriending her, hiding his religious identity.
Station House Officer, Chiluatal police station, Neeraj Kumar Rai said that woman's father lodged a missing report on January 5 after she did not return home from college.
Police claimed that the woman's phone records are proof that she used to frequently talk to the man named Mehboob and the location was Karnataka.
After this, a police team was sent to Karnataka to trace the man and the kidnapped woman.
The SHO said that the case was lodged under sections 366, 363 of the IPC, besides the new anti-conversion law of the UP govt.
