The Indian Council of Medical Research has allowed five more labs in Uttar Pradesh to conduct coronavirus test.
Till now, eight labs in the state were functional having an overall capacity of about 1,200 tests a day.
The new labs will allow UP to undertake about 1900-2000 tests a day. Principal secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad said, “Adding new labs is a time-taking process."
He said, "Before the lockdown, we were able to conduct about 150 tests a day. But now, eight labs are fully functional which has increased our capacity to about 1,200 tests.
Let us tell you, the newly approved labs are at state medical colleges, Agra and Allahabad.
