PM Modi Lights a Lamp, Unites India for COVID-19 Battle
On Sunday night PM Modi joined millions of Indians as he turned off all the lights of his residence and lit a lamp in the drive to mark India's fight against COVID-19.
With pictures of him lighting a lamp PM Modi tweeted a Sanskrit shloka.
The shloka means, "Salutations to the Light of the Lamp which Brings auspiciousness, health, and prosperity, which Destroys Inimical Feelings; Salutations to the Light of the Lamp.”
Union minister S Jaishankar also tweeted, “Two diyas - 1 for me and the other for my 88-year-old mother who could not be at the door. Joining an expression of mass solidarity. India stands united as never before.
Apart from them Ravi Shankar Prasad and Nirmala Sitharaman also joined in PM Modi's drive and lit diyas and candles.
