Coronavirus: 1 Man Arrested, a Dozen Booked for Violating Lockdown Orders

  • Noida police arrested a man and booked around a dozen people gathering for a group namaaz and violating lockdown restrictions imposed due to coronavirus.
  • The FIR was lodged under the provision of the National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and the UP Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
  • These men were arrested after a video surfaced online showing these men gathering on the terrace of a house for the prayer.
  • Police registered an FIR against them under IPC sections 188, 269 and 270 at the Sector 20 police station.
  • Police said that despite all the measures these men violated the orders. By their defiance and ignorance, their actions could lead to the spread of coronavirus.
