Kashmiri Pandits join protestors at Shaheen Bagh
- Protesters at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh on Sunday called for a meeting in solidarity with Kashmiri Pandits, who were forced to leave the Kashmir valley in 1990.
- This came after a controversial tweet by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, claiming January 19 event was aimed at celebrating the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
- Thirty years ago, 5 lakh Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homeland.
- In 1990 amid rising Islamic Militancy, Pakistan-backed terrorists and the Kashmiri Muslims threatened the KPs to either convert to Islam, leave Kashmir or die.
- The KPs appealed to the Centre asking for justice to the crimes committed against their community in the 90s and demanded an SIT to probe the genocide.
