Protesters at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh on Sunday called for a meeting in solidarity with Kashmiri Pandits, who were forced to leave the Kashmir valley in 1990.
This came after a controversial tweet by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, claiming January 19 event was aimed at celebrating the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
Thirty years ago, 5 lakh Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homeland.
In 1990 amid rising Islamic Militancy, Pakistan-backed terrorists and the Kashmiri Muslims threatened the KPs to either convert to Islam, leave Kashmir or die.
The KPs appealed to the Centre asking for justice to the crimes committed against their community in the 90s and demanded an SIT to probe the genocide.
